One of the first obstacles I had to overcome when I began working as the only attorney at my firm was to try and talk people into retaining me to handle their case for them.  I was just out of law school and had just passed the bar.  I was 26 years old and probably looked like I was 20 and I was asking people to pay me thousands of dollars to handle their cases.

When I would go up to meet with clients they would always give me this look like, “where’s the real attorney?”  If they didn’t give me the look then it was because they thought I was just he paralegal coming up to get them for the attorney.  I definitely got the look, or the question, when I brought them into my office and began to ask about their legal needs.

I am starting a series on the blog about how to be confident and use your youth to your advantage no matter what business or ministry you are in and how to get your clients to fall in love with you and hire you.
